Interesting tokens rudi.
And excellent work on those camps claudermilk!
Currently wrapping up 32 of the Essex MID74 Heavy Billmen - picked up off TMP with a lot of miscellaneous Normans, Saxons, Welsh archers, and some Spanish Spearmen. Already primed - black and that reinforced my preference for white... Three elements for the BBDBA HYW English and the others may go to a future Serbian Empire army?
Also 'touching up' (adding some additional color) 15 MER29 Late Medieval Partisanmen also picked up secondhand and painting 5 more. Three elements likely to become BD for the BBDBA HYW French.
Some MER28 Medium/Heavy Billmen to mix with a couple of MER36 Dismounted Knights/Men at arms for 2 elements of 'stiffened bills' for WOTR English.
Previously completed 3 elements of mixed MID1 to 7 Feudal/Early Medieval knights, 2 elements of mixed MID9-13 knights, and 2 elements of MID17s. Have 4 more elements of the MID17s in the queue. These will fill in various variants of the early Book IV armies. I have taken some of the historical blazons and varied the colors to avoid making them specific individuals.

Just finishing off basing the 2x4Kn for the LIR (East) and Tom’s complement will be done. Rather than crack on with my half, I thought I’d take a break from Romans and have begun work this afternoon on the 1/58 Meroitic Kushite, bought from Magister Militum last year as they began winding down their business.

Things finally accelerated with the Phokian army and shield decals are going on and basing is happening. Then apply goop & flocking and I should have finished pictures later this week. I have an idea how to do the camp as the Temple of Appollo on Mount Parnassus, maybe with a spot for a camp follower base to fit, hopefully it will turn out.

Somehow I’ve ended up working on a 4/80 Hussite army must have been seeing those wagons from carll !. I’ve wanted to convert scratch-build some wagons for some time and I had a load of Alternative Armies (ttg) figures that are small enough to fit in them plus two lovely wagons from QR miniatures. TBH some of the newer AA casts are not great but they have some nice poses and will give me a chance to try out some metallic speed paints (thanks for the recommendation paulisper ) and painting wood. Pleased that the 48 auxilia are now based and flocked.
Half have helmets, a uniform of sorts and make up the city-militias (Sp). The remainder are the Gallo-Roman levies (4Ax). Both will add variety for the Later Imperial or Patrician armies.
Working on the late 4th century Bosporans to fill out the period. Collected from the extras box, all 12 elements will need some repainting. The mobile artillery was the last element added.

And new flocking, but this will require a trip tomorrow for supplies. In the meantime, rebasing civilian figures and animals to make mobile baggage for Arab and Late Medieval European armies.

Time well spent, figures are clean and ready for basing. 12 mobile baggage elements; half Arab, half medieval. 6 camp followers, half Arab, half medieval. No need to paint, but the gloss varnish will need to change.

And the next army is basically done. II/5f Phokians The camp was fun. Basically resembling the Temple of Apollo on Mount Parnassus (ok, the positional relationship is reversed from real life, but this works for the DBA table and looks cool) ...with room for camp followers I want to set up a base with women and children for the camp, but my best options (and a proper Phokian stone thrower) would ship from the UK, and postage costs as much as the figures. So, that will have to wait. An Essex bolt thrower is in progress to fill that last option for now.

Supplies bought, I have finished texturing 30 elements. Monk’s work made easy while listening to audio books.
Painting and flocking of the Bosporans and mobile baggage will be done over the next few days.

... Yes indeed. Well shoot. That will teach me to not triple check my sorting before painting. I must have looked up one listing by mistake during my initial sort. I guess I now have a spare Sp general stand and have use for some of my spare Greek cavalry figures. Now I'll have to go check the next couple of armies queued up to verify I didn't make a similar stupid mistake on them. After taking a good look at sourcing that Xyston Phokian stone thrower, I decided it makes much more sense to just use the Essex piece I have in hand, so that got painted up and is waiting on basing goop to dry for final paint and flock.
