Today I added 1x3Bd and 2x3Ax to my Siamese army. I really have to order the last figures from Khurusan to round out the army - I need one more pack of the Spearmen and one of the archers to get the last 2x3Ax, 2x3Bw and 3xPs.
Over the weekend I soaked my Golden Horde off their old cardboard bases and set them out on new magnetic bases. I needed to add 2x3Bw and 1xCv to the army whilst dropping 1x4Bw. I was able to find two more archer figures in the boneyard that fitted well enough with the Golden Horde so the extra 3Bw are now done - but there was not enough of the old brown sand that I bought last century and used for the original army.
I will be re-doing their bases in a similar fashion to my Mongol Conquest.
I also decided to put the existing strips in the painting tray on hold and make a concerted effort to finish off all of the SE Asian bits and pieces that need attention so as of today The last few elements of my replacement Medieval Vietnamese (1xEl, 1x4Cb, 1xPs, 2x4Ax); The last 1.5 x 4Ax and 1xCv for the spare Khmer (made up of cast offs from my original Siamese - which in turn was built on cast off Khmer figures); and One Indian swordsman figure to make up another 3Bd (or 3Wb) element that will go into a scrap build Tamil army (I already have 2xEl, 2x3Bd made up from spares).
are now taking priority for this weeks painting. With luck the Vietnamese will be finished by Sunday for the current campaign.
Cheers

The Spare Khmer is now finished - I just have to stick down the last 2x4Ax and 1xCv and I have made a new army out of the cast offs from my previous Siamese army which is steadily being replaced by new Khurusan Figures

I'm rather proud of myself this weekend...28 stands of Late Swiss re-done and painted...only 10 stands to paint and base to complete all 4 army options.đ

My rebuilt Vietnamese are just one elephant from completion. Today I finished off 2x4Ax, 1x4Cb and 1xPs so that when my campaign group meets next month I will have all of the Medieval Vietnamese elements required for the game. Of course I still have to complete the basing before they can go up here in jpeg form. I am waiting to hear back from the Leadbear about some new tufts as I am running perilously low and want to get a variety of options for the next few projects. When the elephant is done I can get back to the Scots Common (just have to do the Kn and the Pk elements) and the Cham (needs much more - I have only done an elephant and a couple of Ps so far). Then I think it is time for a Ming Chinese and a Yi Dynasty Korean And while all this is going on I am slowly plodding through brining my armies up to the Purple Code - there are a lot of mounted Samurai to go Cheers

Way back in Feb I talked about bringing a set of armies up to Purple code this year for my campaign.
Mongol Conquest Yuan Chinese (nearly done - battle ready) Southern Sung (battle ready - several elements to go for full compliance) Koroyo Korean (done) Nan Chao (being built) Early Samurai (OMG all that 6Cv) Medieval Vietnamese Burmese Khmer (underway) Siamese (dear lord just about every conceivable fast troop under the sun where before it was all 3Wb or All 3Ax so the same 6 elements could be used). Malay or Sumatran (Done) Uighhur Medieval Hindu (Done)
Now the list looks like this Mongol Conquest (Done) Yuan Chinese (Done) Southern Sung (Done) Koroyo Korean (Done) Nan Chao (Done) Early Samurai (OMG all that 6Cv - but it is battle ready - ie has the 12 elements chosen for the campaign) Medieval Vietnamese (being rebuilt - one element from completion) Burmese (Done) Khmer (Done) Siamese (Being Rebuilt - I need to place an order with Khurusan to get the archers (2x3Bw, 3xPs) and the last Ax. Malay or Sumatran (Done) Uighhur (Done) Medieval Hindu (Done)
And as a bonus I was able to make up a spare Khmer army out of my former Siamese and only needed to paint 1xCv and 1.5x4Ax to get there. This was sold at my club over the weekend which will go some way to getting the figs I need from Khurusan

Over the weekend I carried on with a basefest that saw me put the white pumice powder on the bases of my Golden Horde and the last of my Medieval Vietnamese foot. In the process of replacing the Viets I soaked some of the old figures off their bases - some of them will go to a Burmese army (9a) and three of the foot along with the figure finished today will become Patrician Roman Wb.
After painting the last of the sanded and rocked Vietnamese bases a shade of red ochre, I went over the set with a light black wash. Tonight (Hopefully) the grass and tufts will get added and then when the last Viet elephant is done, one more army will join the purple compliant ranks.
cheers

Today the final El for my Medieval Vietnamese revamp rolled off the line. This army is now fully up to Purple Code, with new figures for about 2/3 of the army.
I just have to get this elly on the base and then add the tufts etc to the full army and will put pix up on Fanaticus.
This makes 57 armies fully purple compliant - 7 of them were raised as DBA3 armies, the rest were part of my long hard slog to bring my stable of armies up to code
In the process I made three armies up out of cast-offs that went into the boneyard Later Bulgar Early Polish (b list) Khmer which I sold to help feed my lead figure addiction
cheers

The second half of my Abbasid and enemies order arrived yesterday. After a vigorous afternoon of cleaning and basing figures I now have twenty-four elements ready for an undercoating. By next weekend, I should have an Umayyad army ready to start a series of historical matches.
