Can't post pics here any more, so I've put a pic on the Facebook page. When I get the energy and time, I'll see if I can get a pic of the figures as well.

Last night I got the paints out and completed the last element of Cv for the Muslim Sicily and North Africa.
The last two strips of figures for this army are now underway (1xLH and 1x3Bw, 2xPs) - the Beja are queued up in the undercoated tray to be the next project.
Meantime the Lombards are also getting closer to completion.
Cheers

Added guild devices to the shields of an element of Low Country pike so that I could varnish them with the rest.
Left the bulk of my paints over on the other side of the state when I came back over for the nieces' birthdays (just six days apart), so decided to go ahead and varnish - my father had a can of the Ace Hardware Varnish and Stain in one.
Over the last three days have worked over about 210 elements.
Felt that as I will be back where I can game at the club I might as well get get some of the painted but not finished in shape for the table.

Started my Southern Hsuing nu replacement elements this morning... I wasn't happy with my choice of figures for the 4Kn and Ax so decided to replace them. I must admit I am happier with the replacements.

I have cobbled together extra painted figures to form a Sogdian army of the late 7th century AD. As opponents for the Umayyad, most will have similar fashions gathered from the Sassanid ‘going out of business’ sale.
These are in the process of repainting and this afternoon I have completed horse and foot archers. Tomorrow I will start on the knights and cavalry. I have thought about adding pennons to identify the Kn from Cv elements.

...a Sogdian army of the late 7th century AD...most will have similar fashions gathered from the Sassanid ‘going out of business’ sale. Great turn of phrase there, Robert. Well put. My own CACS - Sogdian army (Khurasan) will likewise draw from the late-Sassanid, color palette.

My own CACS - Sogdian army (Khurasan) will likewise draw from the late-Sassanid, color palette. I am painting the horse coverings as leather, replacing the ‘bright and colourful’. This leaves many smaller items that will retain their brightness. Bases will need new surfaces and grass tufts will be added.
Look forward to their challenging the Umayyad.

I spent the afternoon today finishing three elements of Kn and rebased them. Tomorrow, the details will be added and then the cavalry.
My order from Timecast arrived which will give me something to do for next month.

Almost done. The Sogdians and allies lack the shiny bits on their armour, pennons and flags. Four elements needed re-basing, which means all bases will needed painting to unify their appearance.

The Sogdians are done along with their allies. No pictures, but they will soon appear in an upcoming battle against the Umayyad.
