I finished my Makkans today, I say Makkans but I can field the I/8 ab and c lists.
It's time to do some replacement elements for the II/38b Southern Hsuing nu or The Islamic Berber Allies for the IV/38 Grenadines.

I'm working on 3 elements (1x3Bd and 2x3Bw) from I/5b as allies for my I/4b Gutians. I'm using the Eureka Sumerian range.
Cheers,

Looks like you figured out how to highlight the metallics, at least from my perspective.
Flippin' love that banner (I have no idea what it is supposed to be called), but it still looks cool!
Backdrops for figs. really do add to the effect.

Cataphracts that appear to fit quite easily on a 40mm wide base. Bonus!

Flippin' love that banner (I have no idea what it is supposed to be called), but it still looks cool! I think it's called a draco, basically a windsock with a metal head, whipped around in the wind and made a whistling sound. The Romans called it a draco and it was quite popular in the 5th century. Not sure who first started using it.

I think the draco came from the Sarmatians and other contemporary steppe peoples (Parthians, Alans, etc.). The Romans started using it after conquering the Dacians and introducing Sarmatian cavalry units into their armies.

Last night I finished an element of Knights for my Italian Lombards
Painting progress has been slow since I have stopped bringing the paints to work. I have a couple of early starts next week where I have to drive myself in so I can push the activity up then.
Hopefully I can finish the Lombards and the Muslim Sicilians before the end of November then get the East Franksih underway quick smart.
Cheers

Yesterday the younger of the (not so) little warbands needed to use my paints for a school assignment.
I decided to lay them all out and do some painting late last night before putting them away and finished 2xPs and 1x4Bw for my Muslim Sicily & North African army
Said army is now 3/4 battle ready needing just 1x3Cv, 1xLH, 1xPs and 1x3Bw to round out the 12, and just another 2xPs to finish the whole army.
Cheers

I received notification this week that my dark age armies were shipped. They should be here at the end of the week.
To be honest, I was tempted to order more miniatures, but thought it better to wait and see what transpires on the 31st.
