So I have been toying with playing 25mm HOTT ie 60mm bases but with 15mm figures. Dragonfrog games produces fantastic 60mm width bases with sabot to suit 15mm figures. These are ok if building a new army but as I already have loads of 40mm width bases the obvious way to go is 80mm width. So I asked Martin at Battlefrog to knock me up some 80mm width bases in various depths.
I think the bases are starting to look like units and we are almost there for using the armies in mass battle systems like Hail Caesar.
Nice work. A bit of milliput, filler or caulking can blend in the old base edges and can also be given texture for the base.
I've toyed with 6mm DBA on double sized bases to give a real mass effect. But I like the larger board (75cm) so doubling that to 150x150cm wasn't going to work. Still considering 6mm on the 25mm bases. For those Downunder I highly recommend back-2-base-ix in South Australia for laser cut bases. Enormous range and excellent service.
