SWMBO and I will be traveling through Canada from west to east next year. Coincidentally, Enfilade could feature in the scheme of things. For those Fanatici in the Pacific Northwest is DBA a feature on this convention and if so would I need to bring troops from Down Under?
Cheers,

I cannot answer about the convention you are talking about, but if you happen to be in the vicinity of Ottawa during your travels, and it happens when Canadians celebrate Victory Day, Cangames will be running that long weekend:
There has been an open DBA tournament held on the Sunday eve. of the convention, for as long as I can remember.
The tournament organizer has a big collection of armies (not as much as Macbeth admittedly), and terrain, so you would not need to port anything to the tournament.
Would love to see you guys there!

DBA at ENFILADE (south of Seattle on our Memorial Day weekend in late May) has been in slow decline since its heyday in 2008, when we presented one or more DBA events in all time-slots. ENFILADE then was a destination convention for DBA players from the Western US and Western Canada, even drawing a few from the across the US. ENFILADE 2008 was also the year of the famous " Battle of the Sugar Packets vs. the Coffee Creamers" (scroll down). Some of the reasons for DBA's decline at ENFILADE are the same that have caused its decline at other, larger game-fests. I also used to host several DBA events, but I took a job in the travel industry, and getting summer holiday weekends off is nearly impossible. I won't know my work-schedule for May 2020 until sometime next winter or early spring. But do keep me posted as to your travel plans westward across Canada next year (what a great trip!). I might be able to make it for the Friday gaming at ENFILADE. Or, would look to host you at a NAGS DBA night here in Seattle.

Thanks for the update on the current lie of the land Paul. I see from the PEL for this year that Terry Griner is running a single session of BBDBA of Manzikert. If DBA isn't in the mix come 2020 then I'll probably register for games that pique my interest.
Cheers,

I was introduced to DBA at Enfilade about 8 years ago. Having finally retired and having time to build a game board, scenery and several armies, I was really hoping to get to play some at this years Enfilade. Already paid for registration and reserved a room. Not that there isn’t always fun stuff to do, but I was really looking forward to that part of the convention. I had noted the absence in the PEL and was hoping it was just a case of not being added yet. A bit bummed at the news.
