Antiochus' forces proved to be too strong for the pretender. Robert, do you see yourself extending to the Maccabean period?
Cheers,

Antiochus' forces proved to be too strong for the pretender. Robert, do you see yourself extending to the Maccabean period? Cheers, Greg, I have, as a higher priority, ordered Graeco-Bactrian to fill out the list of enemies of Antiochus III. These should arrive mid-September. The Maccabean are on my list as I would like to duplicate the guerilla war of 167 BC. Xyston offer an excellent series of miniatures and I will most likely order them in October/November.

I have posted the test games for the Seleucid vs. Galatian at the blog.
dbagora.blogspot.nl/2016/09/project-rome-seleucid-vs-galatian.html
This concludes the series and I enjoyed playing the historical match ups which offered a number of good ideas for scenarios. It was a useful exercise with respect to proper deployment versus experimental and the positioning of terrain.
The series has been well received, especially from those new to the DBA experience, that I shall do two series for the 3rd c. AD. This will feature the Severan army and the Sassanid versus their enemies.
This current series will continue when I finish the Graeco-Bactrian and possibly add the Classical Indian as new enemies for the Seleucid.

Readers wishing to review any of the earlier matches can use the Index to quickly find a particular post.

While updating the page I did notice the matchup between Rome and Carthage was overlooked. This will be posted in the coming week.

The basing color on your stands and your battlefield coloration work beautifully together.

The basing color on your stands and your battlefield coloration work beautifully together. Thank you for the kind word Tony. Building terrain is a never ending process for me.

The Bactrian Greek
Between the historical games I am painting the latest addition to the collection, the Bactrian Greek. There are two commands, one a standard mix of cavalry, pike and elephant and a second composed entirely of cavalry.
I have posted to the blog a brief text with photos of the initial stage. dbagora.blogspot.nl/2016/10/the-greco-bactrian-250-130-bc.html

Thanks Antoine,
I will plan, in a few weeks, some historical match ups between them and the armies of Seleucid and Parthia.
