I liked these so much that I took a couple photos of them when they were still in their plastic carrying case last Wednesday! I'm glad to have your superior photos, Paul.

Eric's new III/65 Nikephorians (Khurasan) made their debut over the weekend in games against my III/14c Early "King Krum" Bulgars (Essex). Here are a few bird's eye views of the quick, Bulgar bashing. Game Start. As the Defender, I chose 2 pieces of Bad Going, and then promptly found myself deploying in them. I really never got out of them. Opening moves (below). My Bulgar LH quickly got behind enemy lines, but the Byz cavalry, not feeling at all concerned with the bog-dwelling Bulgar Spearmen, simply turned 'round and quashed my LH. End game (below). Thirty minutes later, it was all over. Some of my Bulgar Spears got out of the muck, but could do little against the Byzzie Cav and 6Kn. And, my left collapsed before withering bowfire from his 8Bw elements and light troops' advance thru the Woods. Final score: 4-nil. Fortunately, one of DBA's best qualities is the game's brevity. We had time to enjoy four more games with his Nikes, who would go a combined 3-2 against my Early Bulgars and Pechenegs. Finally, (below) here's another posed shot of one of Eric's 8Bw elements, err, make that "15Bw". (No wonder their bowfire is so lethal, right?)

These are even more beautiful "in person!" How the beastly Bulgars and Patchwork Pechenegs ever bring themselves to attack such majesty is beyond me.
