Now that the wretched monkey problem is sorted I am in need of flat round shields. All the Xyston ones appear to have bosses, Essex don't do any as far as I can see. Medium sized round shields with completely flat faces is what I am after. I need to know before Wappy nappy on Sunday as the mrs has given me the key to my money box. Any make will do as long as they fit Xyston figures. Anyone have any suggestions on this, please?

I presume a bit of concavity is OK? What about drawing pins? Scott

Yes weather permitting. I will be there as a fellow punter and not until midday at the earliest. PM me your mobile number and email if you want to do a hand over at the show.

Salutations !
(Late to this party, but will put in my $0.02 anyway...)
It is possible to purchase brass tubing in graduated sizes, sharpen an end of them, and cut circles in thick paper 'cover stock', thin cardboard or plastic, to any size needed. Usable for shields, solid wheels for wagons, etc. Can add thin strip paper for 'handgrip'
Can cut one circle, and another with size-smaller tube, glue smaller atop largr, have shield with recessed rim for easy painting.
Of course, after you resharpen the cutting edge of a brass tool the fourth time, you realize why the Iron Age was such a big hit ;-)
