There's a new, free to download, magazine available from the Peter Pig website. It deals with many aspects of gaming with 15mm figures, and is well worth a look - www.peterpig.co.uk/the15MILL.html

A fine magazine it is too. It makes me wish I had something half-way (even quarter-way) intelligent to contribute.
You know, it occurs to me that the gentleman over at Peter Pig is also named Martin...

It's not 100% Peter Pig or Rules for the Common Man. However, if all the contributors are PP/RFCM fans, you can expect it to have that focus.
I enjoyed the read and you can't beat the price!

You know, it occurs to me that the gentleman over at Peter Pig is also named Martin... Different Martin 😎...he’s Martin Goddard, proprietor of Peter Pig, and I’m a Smith (but to quote Douglas Adams “I’m not some Martin Smith from Croydon” 😊...Hitchhiker’s Guide).

Yes, the main source of articles is from members of the RFCM forum (Peter Pig related stuff), so many have PP references, BUT the stated aim of the magazine, as mentioned in its intro, is to promote all things to do with 15mm gaming, regardless of manufacturer. As a freebie, and with contributions purely from volunteers, I think he’s made a fine start. Question was asked about when publication will be. I have no idea which months it will come out, but I’ll make a point of posting here when I see mention. As an aside, the Rules for the Common Man Forum is well worth joining. Though it is, of course, Peter Pig related in most things, there are other useful inputs and some fine eye candy, too. Aslo, if anyone had material to submit about 15mm gaming for the magazine I’m sure Martin G would appreciate it.

I read “The Mill” last night on the commute home. Good value for money with 88 pages and given the free price tag. Lots of eye candy with an understandable PP focus but a laudable stated intent to be broader and cover 15mm across all manufacturers. I loved the absence of adverts for the latest boutique game or range of oversized figures for an obscure war in Peru that I’m not remotely interested in. As an “Issue 1” there was room for development but definitely a good start and something that could grow to fill the void in column inches in the Wargames media covering the 15mm scale.
I noted the request for articles and thought that most if not all of the battle reports, campaigns scratch building ideas and painting / army showcases would be suitable for “The Mill.” I also thought it was crying out for a “This is DBA” style article if anyone wants to pen one.

Martin, just seen your post. I read that the intent was to publish “The Mill” quarterly in early Jan, Apr, Jul & Oct. I would have thought articles Willie needed 4-6 weeks in advance of publication.

Hi Paddy. How’s trix?
Yes, maybe a DBA related piece might work. I’ll have a ponder....

I've just completed an article for the Society of Ancients' Slingshot magazine which could be adapted/expanded for an audience that is less familiar with DBA. I'll wait and see what sort of reception/critique (if any!) that gets, and get in touch with the PP chaps as necessary.
