The Society of Ancients runs an annual Championship, in which members of the Society may play other Society members, anywhere in the world, using any type of ancient/medieval rules, with a maximum of two games against the same opponent.
49 Members took part in the Championship during the year of 2018. Around 120 games were submitted, and the rules used included Saga, DBM, ARMATI, LADLG, Dux Bellorum and significantly DBA (with around 65 of all games being DBA).
On the Championship pages of the Society website the 2018 results have just been announced -
1st DENIS GREY
2nd MARTIN MYERS
3rd MARK SKELTON
Congrats to all three, and thanks to ALL who play games towards the Society’s Championship, including many players who appear on this forum. (inc. menacussecundus, Diades and attilathenun, for example...) Worthy of note is that all three players played a majority of their SoA Championship games using the DBA rules set.

Well done Denis. I note you lost as many games as I did If only I had won as many Bill (2013 champion-by-accident)

There’s an article, penned by one of our own Fanaticiiii persons, in the latest edition of the Society of Ancients’ Slingshot magazine, all about the SoA UK DBA League.
Many thanks to attilathenun for commenting on the League. Nice one!
