Hello
This is just to thank all DBA players I have met since 2007, even those I have played against. I shall miss it in a way, but to use a phrase "I need to move on".
Originally I was going to rework DBA for myself, I then worked on revising the rules I have been messing around with since 1982. In the end I decided the revision was not worth it, so from January I shall just do 2mm Gaugamela (an old favourite) as my only ancients.
I shall go back to WWII using 3mm and hexagon bases being Company strength.
Once again thanks to you all.

Sorry that your leaving but I understand the need to move onward and upwards.
DBA got me back into wargaming about 10 years ago. Like you I now explore other rule sets and have expanded into other things.
However for Ancients and Medieval I will always use DBA.
Good luck with your projects.

Good luck with your projects! I'd still love to see how you play Gaugamela in 2mm, if you post it online.

Farewell feels like the appropriate response. Thank you for your help in steering me onto the DBA competition circuit.

I use the Irregular miniatures 2mm blocks on thin metal bases, these are used to play the game on a six-foot (1800mm) papering table. In the past measurement has been fiddly, but I am planning to up it, fingers crossed. It is very much a fun project and one I am returning to since first trying it in 2003.

I shall be at Bakewell and Tarrington, but not sure after that, shows with trade stands adds interest, but most will not deal with 3mm WWII.

David,
Look forward to seeing you at Bakewell. Don't forget there will be a bring'n'buy if you want to offload any of your collection!

David, Look forward to seeing you at Bakewell. Don't forget there will be a bring'n'buy if you want to offload any of your collection! Simon Planning to do that at Tarrington, arranged it earlier in the year with Martin, he has plenty of space for two tables, hopefully he has the tables to spare, if not I can use one. Added to which it will be easier to get multiple boxes there.

To paddy649
The problem is simply how do I play myself. I prefer games that are historical, with something approaching historical results, I cannot achieve that in 15mm. The second problem is time, to research and think about a battle is very time consuming, I am 71 and do not have the time.
DBA works fine, but it is what I would call a fun game, I prefer a different type of game, but I did enjoy playing DBA2.2.
