I just finished texturing the bases of 31 elements of Spanish. The painting and flocking will be taken care of tomorrow, but now it is time to enjoy a glass of wine.
I have viewed the four part series of Sharpe’s War, presented by a number of lecturers and authors including Bernard Cornwell, very much recommended.
Part 1, Napoleon’s Great Mistake, Part 2,To the Lines of Torres Vedras, Part 3, The Spanish Ulcer, Part 4, Over the Pyrenees.
A link might help.

Using Nuln Oil (GW Shade) I recently finished a number of Spanish infantry of 1809 and after viewing a number of tutorials using Nuln Oil, I decided to use this to improve the mass of white uniforms.
At the blog, I have posted a brief summary of the experience with photos. dbagora.blogspot.com/2018/11/i-had-recentlyfinished-number-of.html

Portugal 1808/09 – March 27, the siege of Vigo Technically, the Portuguese were not present at this conflict but it does demonstrate the part that the British Navy played in supporting the general uprising in Galicia.
Maps of Vigo ca. 1809 are difficult to locate, but Vigo during the Spanish Succession are. 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com/2018/11/scenario-march-27-siege-of-vigo.html

The Spanish village is taking shape. The six structures lack only their tile roof, but these will be added tomorrow. Painting them will be a breeze as these are stone buildings that were common in rural areas.

The Spanish village is now complete and photos will be posted to the blog this coming Friday. Completing the draft for the final Portugal scenario is the priority at the moment. This last one is unusual as the battle covers a number of weeks with one side receiving reinforcements with each passing week.
Play testing all six scenarios should begin next week.

Portugal 1808/09 – a rural village Due to weather conditions in the US, my last order remains undeliverable, thereby giving me an opportunity to move up the project ladder.
A rural village that could be used for either Portugal or Spain is somethng that needed to be done and there are plenty of fine models that could pass for use in this period, but these do not have the ‘look’ I wanted. 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com/2018/11/spanishportuguese-rural-village.html
Next on the list are fields and possibly a Roman bridge.

These are inspiring! Thank you for sharing. Stone structures without rendering are rare in the commercial buildings offered, especially with tiled rooftops. Yet, they were common throughout northern Spain and Portugal. Goedendag! I am currently painting six elements (battalions) of French grenadiers and in the background is the village, its presence serving as a tempting objective.

The six elements of French grenadiers, a general officer and the Polish Vistula lancers are complete. These are now varnished and their bases will be textured later today. I am still awaiting delivery of an order which prompted me to look at a few possible conversions to fill the ranks. I have an abundance of French Chasseur a Cheval that can easily convert to Hussars (add pelisse) and there are extra SYW Prussian hussars with mirliton cap in the collection that will do for a few Spanish regiments.

Scenario – March 29 – April 19, Amarante This completes the series of proposed scenarios of Soult’s campaign in Portugal. The six scenarios present some under appreciated conflicts that helped undermine Soult’s original plan to sieze Lisbon.
Note that the scenarios are presented in draft form and do need testing and eventual revisio, but do feel free to use them with your favourate rule set. We use a DBA variant for the Horse and Musket era (DBA-HX3)where each stand represents either a battalion of infantry or a regiment of cavalry.
The conflict at Amarante is unique as it contains four seperate engagements with each successive battle bringing more troops into the conflict. 18thcenturysojourn.blogspot.com/2018/12/scenario-march-29-april-18-combat-at.html

What a wonderful resource - thank you for sharing timurilank! I can't wait to see battle reports.
Now I need to dig out my 15mm DBN Peninsula project and get it going again...

What a wonderful resource - thank you for sharing timurilank! I can't wait to see battle reports. Now I need to dig out my 15mm DBN Peninsula project and get it going again... Jeffrey, Thank you for the comments. The holiday period will certainly provide ample time to test a number of these scenarios; battle reports and photos will certainly follow. I have the order of battle for the entire French army for each year of the war and I found the information rather illuminating. Despite the superior strength of the French in the Iberian peninsula, the percentage of troops felled by illness was high, in 1809 this reached 20%. This decreased in subsequent years as the supply situation improved and corps commanders devised better counter measures against the guerrillas, the latter will make interesting scenarios.

Six Spanish militia are done and a further six elements of cavalry and artillery lack minor detailing and all be ready for varnishing. These will flesh out the army of Del Parque to 40 elements.
