Could anyone advise on any UK available ranges for these. I see Essex and Lancashire do dedicated ranges but have spearmen and archers rather than swordsmen (as well as mounted). Look like I could get camel riders from Donnington, Irregular or Blackhat. I was wondering whether to try colonial Beja ranges from, eg, Peter Pig.
Regards

Regards Simon Simon, The Pre-Islamic list covers nine centuries during which clothing styles would change some. Howevere, the standard topcoat and turban should do the later part of the list as Roman Imperial scouts are depicted in modern illustrations with cloth covering the helmets in a turban fashion.
Old Glory Arab Conquest figures would but these come 24 figures to a pack. Infantry packs are a mix of half sword, half spear. I like the Bedouin from the Crusade list; these are Camelry, cavalry and infantry and further down the list are Arab peasants. www.timecastmodels.co.uk/og15crusades/og15crusades.html#saracens

Try Khurassan Miniatures - I think they brought out an 'arab' range a few weeks back.

Thanks for the ideas. I should also have mentioned that I am interested in putting them up as opponents to the Marian Romans around 100 - 50 BC.

I used a mix of figures for my three Pre Islamic Arab armies, one of the contributors was Evil Gong Miniatures - which give you a variety of sword and spearmen in various poses. (sword and spearmen sold in separate packs) and some mounted figures that look different and are in different poses to other brands
Cheers

Simon I am not certain Simon, It looks like they are harder and harder to find - a quick google search shows that the Evil Gong website is now offline - it's front page says that the ranges are available from East Riding Miniatures in the UK but their website doesn't seem to show anything. There is another post from TMP 1 March 2017 that suggests orders can still be filled - but my work computer won't load that page I have been picking up figures from the MOAB bring and buy that have been put there by Mr Evil Gong himself Dave Brown. Dave Brown - if you are still out there in Fanaticiland let Simon know if he can get his paws on your Arab figures. Cheers

Colin O’Shea has painted a fair few of the LPIA armies. He uses a mix of figures, inc. Donnington, Essex and 15mm.co.uk, and would probably be willing and able to advise which fit the bill best. Pics of some of these can be seen at previous tournament photo albums on Yahoo, inc the recent PAWS and the Welsh Open, generalled by pawsBill.
I’ll give him a nudge.....
