Just finished my first day at CanGames:
I ran a game this afternoon (Pocket Battles), and coincidentally, one of the participants for Pocket Battles, will also be entering the DBA tournament on Sunday evening, and it was fun talking about DBA and his experiences over the years playing.
Ah, three days surrounded by gamers playing games, hooray!

Finally got to play against other people, yesterday evening.
I am not sure if there were 10 or 12 of us in the tournament, but I do know I ended up in third last place.
The first game I had was against the early Serbians, so it was neat to go against them with my Serbian Empire army. My opponent was super helpful, and after a long drawn out battle, he took four of my elements to his two for me.
My second game was against Early Saxons, I think, and after one of his warband had to recoil into the river, I managed to take four of his elements to him taking three of mine.
My third game was against Early Irish, not sure about that, but they certainly has a ton of fast bow! I was the defender and really put myself at a disadvantage right away through how I deployed the terrain, and hemmed in my knights between a difficult hill and a river. Needless to say, I lost four elements (one being my general), to his two elements.
My last game was against the Scythians, and they managed to sack my camp in the first bound! Although we both lost four elements, that camp was the decider.
One thing that I found surprising, is that none of the other participants had ever used either rivers or BUA's, so I noticed a few raised eyebrows when I picked them.
Can someone help me with the scoring system used for tournaments? I couldn't figure out for the life of me how they were doing it.
It was a ton of fun!

So one of the other players posted on their facebook page (Ottawa Miniatures Gamers), that a win is 10 points minus any points incurred from element / camp loss.
Now I can see why I got seven points for my win instead of what I thought would be four.
