Just to let folks know that the SoA Championship is in full swing. Here's an extract from the Society Facebook page on how it works: The championship is open to SoA members using any ruleset of the players' choice. A player may not enter more than two games against the same opponent. Players use any ruleset they are comfortable with from cavemen to AD1500. Results are win/lose/draw. The winner revels in fame and adulation in Slingshot and the Society webpage, besides receiving a trophy and a prize.Last year's championship was won by Roy Boss, SoA chairman. What is interesting about 2017 is that a little under half the games played used the DBA ruleset. Here's a breakdown: You can submit games for 2018 here. Or email to championship@soa.org.uk for bulk competition results or any queries.

No, not everything :- Membership now runs from the time you join (used to be January βstartβ date, even if you joined in November). Therefore, you get the next available Slingshot from date of joining. The SoA Championship runs from Jan 1st to (last game played on or before...) Dec 31st. You can use any rules to play another member in the Championship. The SoA UK DBA League runs from 1st tournament after the English Open (normally scheduled for end October, so effectively 1st Nov., until the finale at the English Open each year. SoA membership not required to be part of the League......
