Picked up some Royalist forces to do battle against a club mate.
We are actually intending to use P&S and Lart to play our games but decided to have a crack of DBA
We used fairly generic lists whilst we make up some with flavour but will pretty much be Combined, foot heavy or cav heavy
General Pike or Cav Pikes Shotte/bows Artillery Cav, may look at using heavy cav with knights factors Dragoons as LH Dismounted dragoons as psiloi
Terrain we allowed arable, forest or littoral
Games went ok enough to make me paint up 2 x 12 elements first whilst I continue to paint the mountain.

Hi Baldie Pete D. has written a DBA v3 ECW variant, which I’ve tried a few times. Like it a lot. If you PM me with an e.mail address I can send you a copy (asked Pete, he’s ok with that).

In fact anyone can access our attempt here Feel free to print and use but do let me have any feedback. Its meant to be double sided (Pages 1 & 2) The third page is to assist set up and has some notes on troop types. I've tried to be ruthless about getting rid of unnecessary troop types to keep a simple game. The attempt has been to have minimum changes from DBA 3.0 other than to give a flavour of ECW period - hence Shot is more powerful and Dragoons are mobile skirmishers rather than mounted infantry. Generals are not integral to units (see note on sheet two). I've not tackled the Army lists yet but Martin has done some work on translating the DBA-RRR lists to this format.

Hi Baldie, I have drawn up a set of rules for the English Civil War which I use for my battles and campaigns. They are derived from DBRRR and the DBN Napoleonic rules. You can view them on my web page www.spanglefish.com/solitarywargamer

I had a quick read and the troop types are the bare essentials. Definitely worth a try, but it will have to wait until the current projects are done. Shot and Pike are on the ‘to do’ list for this year.

One of these days - I got a boatload of pikemen when Stone Mountain was clearing them out. Have some Minifig shot, cavalry, and artillery as well.
However as with Timurilank, too many other projects in front of them.

Hi Read your rules and like them. I will give them a try later today. I appreciate that you are keeping troop types to a minimum but I may add in a skirmisher element to represent the Forlorn Hope. Possibly using same rules and states for DBA

We play it using DBA-HX written to 2.2 but have added the attrition system from DBN. That makes for a fine game for us. It also includes army lists.
