Like many others I am sure, I read Martin Smith's excellent battle reports of Arsuf in the current Slingshot with great interest. Two used BBDBA and the other used HoTT. I would be interested to know if others are using HoTT for historical refights and any tips, house rules etc.
There are certainly elements of HoTT that I like - eg rolling carpet threat zones, a more common sense approach to what you do if in two threat zones, faster troops being able to withdraw from combat and having the hero option for elite troops.
Any thoughts?
Cheers and a Happy New year to all!

I have used the 'lurker' option for the campaigns in Hispania (180 BC).
This would allow Spanish psiloi to move from cover (bad or rough going) to engage in melee at a pip cost.

My only problem the lack of element types. I was already moving D3H2 towards my next project because I think HOTT really misses some of the element interaction that I see in DBA.
