The theme for the 2018 Woolston DBA Challenge is “Greece, Macedonian and the Punic Wars (430 BC to 146 BC)”. This theme covers the Peloponnesian Wars, the rise of Macedonia and the resultant various Macedonian Succesors states as well as the Punic Wars. It ends with the final defeat of Carthage in 146 BC. Each year I try and create an event with something of a twist, within the restrictions of local player’s army availability. The theme is reasonably standard but the twist is that you can change armies part way through. A sliding historical theme if you like. Further, if you change you get a bonus point. Full details of the armies that can be used can be found here: ancientwargaming.wordpress.com/woolston/No registration fee applies, but please register to assist with organisation.

I seriously contemplated crossing the ditch for this Keith. Then I noticed the date. Unfortunately other than CANCON, traveling for gaming is a non starter for me in January.
Cheers,

Completely understand Greg. It is a difficult time of year and I find traveling in January difficult as well. This event is mostly aimed at the locals in town or for people who are visiting family as it slap in the middle of the Christmas & New Year holidays.

Nice report. Looks like a fun day of gaming, and the pics are, as always, very evocative. Well presented armies, too. Cheers Martin
