Cheers

Hi Everyone Due to unforeseen circumstances I've had to move the date of Mercian DBA which will now be 18th February. Time, venue theme etc are unaffected. Apologies for any inconvenience. For me that works well. I was about to post that all that snow earlier meant another event had been rearranged for 25th preventing me from attending, but 18th might just work!

Unfortunately the opposite is the case for me. 25th was OK, 18th I am on call. Scott

Played four games with armies from this theme this evening. Feudal English took on, in turn, N Welsh with FE ally (FE resounding win, 3Pk and Cav general lost), Anglo-Irish, tight game with a FE loss (I think), Feudal French (French win, after English constricted by a fort in their deployment zone), and finally Scots Isles and Highlands, FE win after an adventurous outflanking move by Galwegians didn’t QUITE tip the balance. Bows/crossbows significant in all games, causing a large number of casualties. Fun all round, and distinctly unpredictable.

Pete, can you confirm what time you want us there (trying to plan various pickups in/near Winchester). meself + Colin + Oli...and maybe Mark S, TBA.

Martin Martin, I say old chap - isn't all this practice malarkey a trifle unsporting? Whatever happened to the notion of spiffingly amateurish, true blue-blooded Englishman? Simon

Not really “practice”, more giving a newer player a chance to run out his shiny noo army against a few different opponents, to test the waters......and he does really well. Scarily well sometimes. Meantime, Smiff M struggles to do owt of any use.....need more practice!!! Twas meself and Colin v the newer player, so he knows all our tricks now.....doh.

Cheers Simon
I'm old fashioned 24" boards would be my preference but if anyone wants a 30" board associated with their army that's fine. Do bring them if you have spare capacity.
