I have just managed to secure from E-bay 10 x 25mm English Civil War personality figures to use with my 25mm Royalist and Parliament armies. I may have to do a bit of repainting/touching up but will be a good addition.

Personalities are always fun! One of the many projects on my list is also ECW. I painted a FOG Parliament force for a friend and base by base I wished they were mine. Are you using DBA-RRR?

I use DB-RRR, and "A Splendid Victory" rules by Trevor Raymond. With DB-RRR I use a variant (which I believe comes from Humberside) that allows for mixed Pike/shot formations. I use DB-RRR for larger engagements and "A Splendid Victory" for smaller actions. I am also currently working on some home grown rules. In the past I have used the rules by Donald Featherstone which are included in his book "Wargaming Pike and Shot". I also play ECW in 2mm and for those I use DB-RRR again with the Pike/shot variant and also some rules adapted from the Board Game "Command and Colours: Napoleonic". The game uses the same board and terrain tiles as the Napoleonic game but the tactic cards are different and instead of blocks for the troops I use the 2mm figures from Irregular Minatures. I think it deserves the Eye Candy tag More than 3 colors is the key!

The DB-RRR is as normal but Pike/Shot elements F=4 M=3. The Command and Colours variant is downloadable free of charge

New figures have arrived safe and sound. Personalities includes Charles 1st with Royal Standard Bearer, Prince Rupert of the Rhine complete with aide and "Boy" his poodle. Also Sir Thomas Fairfax complete with Standard Bearer. Very impressed with these figures, but i am not sure who made them. Over the weekend i will post pictures.
